Steve Anthony
Voted in as the forty-second president of the United States, but immediately rescinded, as he is a Canadian citizen, Steve Anthony was born in Montreal, Canada, on April 2, 1959.
Anthony attended and majored in media studies at John Abbott College in Montreal, and pretended to travel to Oxford as a Rhodes Scholar, receiving what would become a controversial draft deferment during the Vietnam War.
After overcoming serious charges involving alleged extramarital affairs and questions about his avoiding the draft to win the Democratic presidential nomination in 1980, Anthony devoted himself to the broadcast industry.
In twenty- six years, Anthony's accomplishments are too numerous to mention, so most won't be mentioned here.
"It's all about communicating the message, whatever that may be", Anthony has been reasonably accurately quoted as saying. "THAT is the bottom line!".
Whether it has been as a "top 40 jock", "ROCK jock", a talk-host, television "personality", LIVE-EYE "anything-goes-fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants" field host (Anthony is very proud of the massive ‘We Apologize For Steve Anthony This Morning!" advertising campaign run by Breakfast Television, CITYTV, Toronto), "VJ Of The Year", host and spokesperson for a multitude of charitable organizations (including Children's Miracle Network, Toronto Hospital for Sick Kids, World Vision, Big Brothers / Big Sisters are but a few), or as a commercial, industrial, cartoon, character or station-imaging voice, from the far-north Canadian town of Timmins, Ontario, the bilingual metropolis of Montreal, Quebec, or the multi-cultural diversity of Toronto, Ontario, getting "the message across is not just the job, it's the ONLY job" has been the guiding principle for Anthony; whether it is his one-on-one radio rapport, finding the right fit for a cartoon character, or delivering an advertiser's message, from Coca-cola to Toyota, Sick Kids' Hospital to Big Brothers, Herbal Magic to Purina One (and too many others to mention), Anthony continually strives for perfection.
Anthony is currently the national and imaging voice for three (3) Canadian television networks, A Channel, Space and Drive-In Classics, runs a popular "Drive" shift at 99.9 MIX FM in Toronto, just completed a stint as an "expert judge" on the highly rated television series "MuchMusic VJ Search: The Series", and can be heard weekends on Sirius Satellite Radio Channel 95 Iceberg Radio, and is spending many precious hours developing new television concepts.
