Attempted murder arrest

A suspect has been arrested for the attempted murder of a police officer early yesterday. Around 2:30 members of the gun and gang task force located a man with a gun in the 401 and Weston area. A shot was fired at an officer. Only the police vehicle was hit. The shooter fled. Now under arrest on numerous charges is 21-year old Jaime Merchan of Toronto. A gun was recovered.
