The Dark Knight......may be too Dark for me....

I'm a huge Batman Fan BUT I am a little freaked out by watching Heath Ledger's performance as it's the "role that killed him".  He was working so hard on the character of the Joker and putting all he had into it, that his anxiety levels were off the charts.  Which of course lead him to take all those medications and overdose accidentally.  He left us way too young and he was so talented.  He left us without all the great characters within that we will never get  a chance to see.  I want to celebrate his life by watching Batman but at the same time I'm afraid of being so sad and so focused on his death during the film that I won't be able to even concentrate.  It just all seems a little morbid.  But, I am certain that his breathtaking final performance will have me only paying attention to one of the greatest actors of this generation,  in all his glory,  for his tremendous FINAL BOW.  You are missed Heath.

It's MY FAV time of the YEAR!!!  Pride.  I went to the kick off Opening Gala at the Distillery District on Tuesday night.  It was the awards for outstanding people in the gay community that have made a difference.  I was with a table of my closest friends who I just ADORE  -Glenn Dixon from W's "Sell this House", Jeffrey Latimer of Disel Playhouse, Ron White of Ron White Shoes, his boyfriend Brad and my date -John Tory (I was a sub date for him as my friend his wife Barb was away).

It was a blast and very touching at the same time to see all these amazing people all celebrating Toronto and how we are so ahead of the rest of the world when it comes to gay, lesbian and transgender rights.  It's nice to know that there are in fact PRIDE WEEKS in High Schools now and that we are more accepting as a nation. 

Backstage at the Much Awards and waking up with NKOTB....

What a night!  I am soooo tired but it was worth it.  Was backstage at the MMVA'S last night doing interviews with all the celebs and it was tres fun!  I've been at all of the big award shows numerous times-Grammy's, MTV, American Music Awards, Billboard...all of them and the MUCH awards remain the most casual and different.  First of all everyone is walking around with a cocktail and dancing up a storm so instead of a stuffy backstage area you have a party atmosphere which makes for much better interviews (as the celebs are more relaxed and fun).

Simple Plan were so fun to chat with.  Melanie C remains the nicest, most down to earth of the Spice Girls.  She looked FAB.  Sean Kingston was ton's of fun and was wearing hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of bling-insane.  Rhianna was stunning -and even better in person.  My fav had to be RAAIN Wilson (Dwight Shrute from The Office).  He was very funny and a riot to chat with.  Another good show.  Bravo MUCH!!

Sexy Superhero's????

Mad Dog and I were having this fight on the air today about Hulk the movie opening tomorrow.  I said that the Hulk Franchise doesn't do as well as other Superhero movies because of one thing...HULK is NOT sexy!!!!  Mad Dog thinks his size and strength make him HOT to women.

Check out Batman, Spiderman, Superman...even Iron Man.  Sculpted bods, cod pieces and cool superpowers.  The there's the HULK.  First off he's GREEN...Mad Dog says I'm a racist cause I don't like GREEN people.  Also, what is up with those flood pants and  don't get me started on the haircut.  And his powers aren't sexy....so what ...he can throw things and lift stuff.   Plus, he has anger issues and who wants to deal with that.  I'd take Superman and his daddy issues anyday.  Or Batman's Mommy AND Daddy issues OR Spiderman's Uncle issues....and so on.  Why are Superhero's from such tragic pasts anyway?

Should Dogs wear clothes...look at these first.......

So we had this debate this morning about Doggy FAshion.  Is it okay to dress your dog up?  Thanks for all your great calls.  Mad Dog is against it...I am for it...they just look so darn cute.  I mean if your Dog REALLY hates it then that is cruel but if they don't mind and feel pretty then I say....who's it hurting????  What ya think?

 

I mean....c'mon.....these are my babies....Macdaddy is the Pug.  The king charles is LOLA....don't they look THRILLED to be dressed up????

We talked about this on air this morning.  What would make u walk away?   I realized I have a ton but the important ones are: doesn't like dogs, doesn't have a good relationship with his mother and owns a pager of any kind..........oh and BAD shoes...oh and bad personal grooming....AND bad table manners........oh and criminal records aren't that sexy either ....:)

Ok....just back from the most FAB weekend in NYC with a bunch of friends and I MISS IT ALREADY!!!!   We had a blast -the food, the shopping, the city is just so amazing....  I find it the most friendly of all major cities too despite what they say.  The people we met were truly incredible. The city has a life of its on and in it you feel like the smallest person on the planet. It eats you up.

In brief-Went to Soho on Saturday -had amazing weather, dropped by my favorite brunch place I've been going to for the past 6 years The Cupping Room.  Dropped by my fav place to stay The Sohogrand Hotel...then yummy cocktails on a near by patio that Fergie and Josh were at... sipping wine.  SOHO is the best place to walk around in NYC is you love fashion and cool little places.  We did manage to sight see (meaning take pictures in friont of locations used in Sex and the city a lot. Dolce Gabbana (one of Carrie Bradshaw's fav stores (mine too). My gal Josie and I took one at the New York Public Library where Carrie and Mr.Big kissed. Just thought I'd share some photo's with you as we are giving away a kick ass trip for you and three girlfriends to go to NYC and tickets to see the movie with Kim Catrall here at the Canadian Premeire -The sex and the city tour is part of the package and you'll be doing tons of stuff on it but here is a couple of locations you'll visit.....

Lazy Shopping !!! My favourite kind.....

HEY!!!!!!!!   Sooooo...I'm kinda addicted to online shopping.  I love not having to leave the house to spend money I don't have.  Especially EBAY.  I just love getting "old school" mail.  It's like Christmas....a shiny package to open!!!  And buying things on line you use your credit card and everyone knows that doesn't count as "real" money. (well until the end of the month). 

And, for personal stuff like trying on jeans, bra's and bathing suits -its awesome.  You don't have an annoying sales clerk waiting to see if you indeed will fit into the size smaller you brought into the change room as opposed to your actual size!!!

And on EBAY you can get stuff for like a fraction of the cost.  I go to the stores -try on the jeans or item I wasn't for sizing and write down the serial number to ensure it's the right thing.  Jeans you can get for next to nothing (rock and republics, true religion, hudson's -all for under 50 bucks and these jeans as you know retail from 250-450.  They are also all authentic and brand new.

Everything I know I learned from MADONNA....

To to say I'm a huge Madonna fan is an understatement....I have pretty much learned a ton from her growing up...even stuff I didn't want to know. 

I was suspended in grade 7 by Sister Ann at my catholic elementary school for wearing a "MADONNA -LIKE A VIRGIN T-Shirt".  The Sister said that "Madonna was not the type of woman that young girls should look up too and she was certainly not a "virgin" as my shirt indicated ". 

I had the choice to take it off or leave school for three days- There was no way (especially from what Madonna had taught me up until that point) that I was NOT going to compromise my freedom of expression!!!  Thank you Madonna.

Why can't i just start a friggin diet already?

 Okay....so.  I don't know if your like me or not BUT every year  at
 this time (well to be honest around March) I start gearing up for
 Spring.  My first thought is always "I'm gonna lose this ten (okay 12)
 pounds I put on over the fall/winter.  I promise myself that I will
 fit into those jeans from last spring, I will skip the fries (and yes
 they still count when you eat them off someone else's plate as I do)
 and  I will work out for an hour each day....6 days a week.

 It's now friggin May.....I have worked out ONCE this week and I just
 had  Fries (off my friend Roz's plate) last night when I was  being
